What do I do when my teen won't do his or her homework?
If an older kid, maybe a teenager, doesn’t do their homework, the logical consequence is to make them do their homework. They should miss out on doing things they want to do and I think that they need to go forward and give an apology. Not only to their parent for taking up time and having to talk to them about that, but also to their teacher. Maybe the teacher will want them to do an extra activity or some kind of homework to make up for what they missed. I think letting kids take responsibility is number one. Then what are they supposed to do? Do their homework. What are they missing out on? The fun things in life. And then how can they make up for what they've done? Maybe by completing chores or doing extra work.
